Meet Rookie
If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please complete an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about our adoption process, please visit our Adoption Process page on our website at www.rescuecrew.org.Hi everyone! I’m Rookie, and boy oh boy, I am so excited to meet you! I’m also excited to go on walks with you, snuggle with you, and play tug-of-war with you too! I’m a very energetic boy so I am looking for a family who can give me lots of attention and exercise. I might even make a great hunting partner if I received the proper training for it, because I think I would thrive if I had a job where I could put all of this energy. I also like to play with other dogs! Except when they try to take my bones. I don’t really like to share those. But my foster parents are helping me learn how to share better. In fact, I’m learning lots of new things at my foster home! You see, I don’t think I had much training wherever I came from. I’m not even sure where that was, because I was found wandering the streets by some nice police officers, and then nobody ever came looking for me. Which is crazy, because I’m such a sweet and lovable boy! They thought maybe my old owners left me outside since I was unfixed and had some bad manners. But that’s not my fault! So now my foster parents are working very hard to teach me commands and manners, and I sure hope my forever family will keep up their hard work. So far I’ve been making great improvements on basic commands and crate training. I just know I will be the happiest and goodest boy ever if I could just find a family who will continue my training, and give me lots of love and exercise! Just meet me and you’ll see! Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption. The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online forms here as well.
Adoption Process
Adoption applications must be completed, which include information regarding references and vet clinic information, DL #, names, etc. Reference checks are conducted and when necessary vetting information verified. Discussion about the animal interested in to best assure appropriate and proper placement is made, and educational information regarding how to manage a multi-dog/animal household, slow and proper introductions and the importance of a shut-down period to help the animal acclimate to new surroundings. A "meet and greet" with the animal is required and whenever possible all residents of the household should be present. Home checks may, but not always, be necessary. After adoption applications is approved a contract is required, where we also stipulate that if for any reason the adopter determines they no longer want or can care for the animal we require it be returned to us, with the exception of documented bite history or potentially dangerous or dangerous dog designations. Adoption fees vary, but are comparable to or less than other local rescues and typically are $300 or less for a canine and $150 for a feline.
