Meet Fritzy *Arriving 6/14*

Fritzy came from a hoarding situation and while she started out guarded and unsure, she’s made huge progress in her Texas foster home. Now that she is settled in, she’s easygoing, affectionate, and reliable—she keeps her kennel clean, uses a potty pad if needed, and listens when she’s asked to kennel up. At night, she burrows under the covers, and in the morning, she’s ready with kisses. She’s not one for toys, but she enjoys her treats and rawhide chews. More than anything, Fritzy is a lap dog—she’ll paw at your face for attention or jump up just to be the first in line for pets. She’s content on her own but has recently started engaging with other small dogs in the home. She’s not interested in roughhousing with big dogs but coexists without issue. Fritzy is healthy now after undergoing heartworm treatment, and overall she’s a low-maintenance companion. She barks when you come home and at the usual suspects (people walking by, fence noise), but otherwise, she’s quiet. She can tolerate being picked up, but doesn’t love it, so a home with gentle, older kids (5 and up) would be best. Fritzy would thrive with someone who wants a loyal, calm, and affectionate companion. She’s made it through a rough past and come out the other side ready to bond and settle in for the good life. Fritzy is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 6/14/2025 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 5 and 9pm. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.  If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.
