Meet Auggie Doggie

Auggie Doggie is one of several Chiweenies living in a hoarder’s house.  They were abandoned a few months ago and a kind person went daily to feed and water them.  They were eventually picked up by Animal Control.  Auggie favors the Doxie side of his heritage.  He is low and long, and very Doxie-looking.     He is a gentle soul seeking a loving home to live out his golden years.  He is estimated to be about 8-10 years old, but still has a lot of spunk!  He enjoys the company of other dogs.  He enjoys ‘collecting’ toys and surrounding himself with them in his bed.  He is very affectionate with his people and loves to cuddle.  He likes car rides, and despite his short legs and age, jumps right up into a full-size pickup truck and into the passenger seat.  Auggie does exhibit mild separation anxiety when left alone.  Often only a stern verbal command of "quiet" and he settles down.  He has a low, raspy bark.  His tongue sticks out a little because he had several rotted teeth removed, so he eats only soft food. But what he can eat he thoroughly enjoys!!     Auggie had a physical exam and bloodwork recently.  He does have a Grade 3-4 heart murmur, but otherwise is in pretty good health.  He is scheduled for neuter and dental cleaning soon.  Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.

Adoption Process
Approved adoption application required. Vet check of current and past animals required. Home assessment / home visit with the entire family, including all current pets required. If adoption occurs, Adoption Contract is required. Spay/neuter Agreement required [if animal not fixed at time of adoption] Return of animal to the rescue if the adoption doesn't work out is required. Adoption fee required; however, the fee varies based on the age and health of the animal. Special rates apply for seniors adopting seniors.
