Meet Barry Bear

Hi! My name is Barry Bear, I am just shy of a 1.5 years old! ( DOB 11/10/22). I am a very pretty boy! Unfortunately, my previous owners surrendered me to Cocker Nation after they said I attempted to nip one of their 11 grandchildren twice. There was no story around what really happened however they said they had to be cautious and could not risk one of their grandchildren actually being bit. At first, I was a little scared however, I have blossomed with my foster. I’m great with other dogs as long as I am introduced at my own pace. I love hanging out with foster siblings. I am ok with cats however, if they run, it’s a game to me. I have not shown any aggressive behaviors in my foster home towards food, toys or anything. I met the cool middle aged neighbor kids and couldn’t give them enough kisses in exchange for belly rubs!  My previous owners didn’t know I don’t like my nails being cut typical cocker! But who does?  My duclaw was curling into my skin when CNR got me, however the nice vet took care of that when she neutered me! I’m currently 26.5# however have some weight to loose! I love playing fetch with balls and sticks. I really love my foster dad and HATE when he thinks it okay to go to work and leave me. When he’s home I want to be by his side all the time and if I’m not you will hear it! I have been working on crate training and starting to really love going in my crate to a treat however I’m not the biggest fan of the crate and will bark. I am a very sweet boy and love  to run in the yard, get my belly rubbed, go on walks and car rides! My foster mom has been working with me on my humping because it just LOVE to hump my foster brother all the time. I have had no issues in the house marking however outside I love to! I have been working on meeting new people and at first I am a little scared but after I realize you are an okay person all bets are off and I will smoother you with kisses! My foster mom says I will be ready to go my forever home the first week of May!

Adoption Process
The first step in adopting one of our rescue dogs is to fill out our online application. Once we receive the application, we will do a vet reference check. Once that is approved, we will contact the potential applicant to set up a home visit. Once the home visit is completed, we set up a meet and greet. If we feel the potential adopter is the best fit for the dog, and vice versa, the adoption will take place.

Look for other dogs for adoption!
