Meet Queenie
Meet Queenie! Queenie is a petite little girl at about 30 pounds. We believe her to be about 6-8 years old. This sweet girl has endured so much in her life so far. She grew up on a puppy mill and bred there. We were told that she was once given a bad furcut so "this way she won't be mean to the other dogs because she'll be embarrassed." When we got her, she tested positive for heartworm disease, and it's unknown how many years she was suffering with that. She has since been treated for heartworm disease. Her name fits her well and she does want to be the queen of her household. We think she would do find with other dogs in the home after proper introductions, especially if the home has another dog that will allow her to be the Queen, or a home with a Prince :) Queenie has never experienced what it's like to live in a home, but she is eager to learn and to find her own bed in a warm and snuggly castle! An approved adoption application is required. The $250 adoption fee (payable by cash or check only) includes spay/neuter; microchip; dental teeth cleaning (if needed prior to adoption); vaccinations; heartworm and tick disease testing; fecal w/ giardia testing, monthly heartworm and flea and tick prevention . Our adoption application may be found by going to: www.headinhomerescue.org; then click on the link to the adoption application. Dogs for adoption may be seen by appointment only following an approved application. Proof of completion of an obedience class is required for all dogs following adoption. Please note: while we welcome out of state applications, we do not ship our animals and require adopters to come to Holland to finalize any adoption.
