Meet Scottie

Hi , my name is Scottie, but my foster mom calls me king Chuckie. I am 6 years and 10 months old (My Birthday is coming up on the 30th of September), I am a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and I’m about 27lbs. You won’t find a nicer little boy than me. I love to cuddle, and I am completely housebroken. I love going for walks with two other dogs that live in my house. I am quiet, loyal, soft and sweet. I am looking for a home that will keep me for the rest of my life as I’ve kind of been bounced around. I’m good with children, big people and other dogs of all sizes. When Headin’ Home took me in, I had a luxated hip. When they did bloodwork on me to prepare me for surgery, we found out I also was positive for pancreatitis. Essentially this means I will have to be on a low fat prescription diet for the rest of my life to ensure I don’t have a flare up again. I was given medication for this and I feel so much better! Once my pancreatitis was controlled by my buddy Dr. Jill at Mapleview, I was safe to have surgery. My buddy Dr. Dan at Mapleview fixed my hip (FHO surgery) and I’m doing so much better! Some days I may have a limp, but I’m able to move around and walk well just like any other dog! Once I’m completely healed, I’d love to run around in a back yard too! I would appreciate it if my new owners also put me on long term joint supplements to support my joints too.   An approved adoption application is required. The $350 adoption fee (payable by cash or check only) includes spay/neuter; microchip; dental teeth cleaning (if needed prior to adoption); vaccinations; heartworm and tick disease testing; fecal w/ giardia testing, monthly heartworm and flea and tick prevention . Our adoption application may be found by going to: www.headinhomerescue.org; then click on the link to the adoption application. Dogs for adoption may be seen by appointment only following an approved application. Proof of completion of an obedience class is required for all dogs following adoption. Please note: while we welcome out of state applications, we do not ship our animals and require adopters to come to Holland to finalize any adoption.
