Meet Sugar

Hello everyone my name is sugar. I am a 2.5 years old cocker spaniel. I have traveled a couple different states in my two years. I was born in Illinois and lived in Indiana before I came to the great rescue of CNR in Michigan. My foster family says I’m a good boy but very scared.  Once I get to know you and realize that you aren't going to harm me, I come out of my shell and will really open up. My foster dad says I’m his little shadow. I am a pretty laid back doggie. I prefer laying on the floor on a mat or blanket. Don’t care for couches or the bed unless there is a storm outside then I will cuddle with you to make sure you are safe. I’m really good on a leash but my family says I’m a little nervous. With more walks I’m sure I’ll love it. I’m good with my two foster sister doggies. There are also two cats I live with here that I don’t have an issue with but one isn’t very nice to me not sure why though. I was never taught that sharing is caring so I have some resource guarding issues so it would be best that i can be in a home without a crate because that is where my biggest issue lies. I might growl if i have a toy but with some work my foster parents think i can over come this.  However, i don't guard my food or water. I even can share a bowl of water at the same time with my foster sisters. I am house broken having no issues going in the house. If interested please feel an application out and my fosters will find the perfect home for me.  Peace out your friend  Sugar.

Adoption Process
The first step in adopting one of our rescue dogs is to fill out our online application. Once we receive the application, we will do a vet reference check. Once that is approved, we will contact the potential applicant to set up a home visit. Once the home visit is completed, we set up a meet and greet. If we feel the potential adopter is the best fit for the dog, and vice versa, the adoption will take place.
