Meet Charley

About Charley We are considering rehoming our dog as we cannot give him the time, exercise, and training he deserves with our current work, travel, and extracurricular schedules. Charley is a 4 year old, neutered male boxer/husky (we think) mix. Charley follows simple commands and is food motivated in training. He is not currently kennel trained, but probably could be with time and effort. Charley loves his people and has significant anxiety. His heckles (hair on his back) is very prominent and he can appear aggressive to other dogs or people who are not familiar with him, even when he is not actually aggressive. He does get defensive when approached by dogs or people and he is on leash, so Charley ideally needs to live in the country or woods where he can play outside (he does not run away) or with a fenced in yard if in the city. Charley enjoys going on runs and can run for up to 6 miles comfortably. Homes with children under the age of 12 will not be considered. He is great with our child, but gets overly excited when there is commotion and can be overwhelming for little people or people who don't like dogs. His ideal owners would be active people, bonus for people who may work from home or be retired as currently he is living in a work from home situation. **Charley is NOT at UPAWS** If interested please contact: [email protected] or (906) 360-5774 Interested persons must be able to provide at least 2 references who can speak to pet ownership and training experiences of the prospective owner.
