Meet Skye Alexander

About Skye Alexander This post makes me sad. It's not something I ever thought I would have to do. I must rehome my dog as mine and my mom's medical issues are getting worse. As a result of this, I am not able to adequately able to care for my dog. He is a black lab and Plott hound mix who is three years old. He thinks he is a lapdog. He is fixed and up to date with vaccines. He is kenneled trained. He knows the commands sit, down, recently learned stay, off, gentle, speak, whisper, shake, kisses, nooks, guard, watch and a little bit of find. He does get to playing and gets a little rough. Skye has never intentionally hurt or bit someone. He loves kids of all ages. Because he tends to get a little rough when playing with kids, it's best that he is with kids over five years of age. This is because he gets super excited and then gets a little rough without meaning to. Skye is a protector of anyone he considers family. Skye needs a family that is active and doing things. He loves walks and being out in a fenced in yard to play. He loves to run. He is neutered and up to date with shots. His vet is Marquette Veterinary Clinic. He knows a few commands. He can sit, down, up, kiss, shake, nukes, off, guard, watch, release (used as okay), come is still a work in progress, he has minimal recall, speak, whisper, load, unload and minimal leave it. He is food/treat motivated so he will respond when using them as a motivator. He does not like baths but will put up with them. If you go swimming, he can be skittish of the water at first. Once he is in the water, he is in heaven. He comes with two kennels, dog food container and food, bowls, a tie down for the backyard, gentle leader, 2 leashes, collars and tags and a lot of toys. I love him so much that I have to do what is best for him. In days where my health or my mum's is bad, he is kenneled most of the day. This is not fair to him. I am willing to do meet and greets with anyone who is interested. He is great with other dogs. He is more interested in cats to get to know them than to harm. He has been known to chase mine. I have never seen him trying to attack her. If you have any questions, please ask them. Rehoming fee is $100 **Skye is NOT at UPAWS** If interested please contact: [email protected] or (470) 529-4909
