Meet Mickey
Mickey came to us after his owner sadly passed away. Mickey is about 3 years old. We were told he is a havanese lab mix, but we aren't sure if this is accurate. He is between 25-30lbs. He is house trained (never any accidents and even peed on the indoor pee mat today when we didn't move fast enough), great on a leash, crate trained (doesn't mind going in his crate at all), calm most of the day, doesn't bark at squirrels/rabbits/birds, knows a few words/commands (sit, come, go to your cage, outside), overall a nice boy. What he's still working on: gets nervous around strangers (especially males) and strange dogs (especially bigger dogs), and barks a lot with whatever human he really bonds to, (Just really, really excited when that person is around). We think Mickey would enjoy a fur sibling as he has always been around other dogs, he will however need a cat free home. Older kids would be best as he can be nervous at times in a new environment. Mickey just needs a family who can give him time to decompress and work on some training! An approved adoption application is required. Their adoption fee is $275 total (payable by cash or check only) includes spay/neuter; microchip; dental teeth cleaning (if needed prior to adoption); vaccinations; heartworm and tick disease testing; fecal w/ giardia testing, monthly heartworm and flea and tick prevention . Our adoption application may be found by going to: www.headinhomerescue.org; then click on the link to the adoption application. Dogs for adoption may be seen by appointment only following an approved application. Please note: while we welcome out of state applications, we do not ship our animals and require adopters to come to Holland to finalize any adoption.
