Meet Mia

Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: YesGood with cats: Yes, dog savvy catsGood with kids: Unknown, likely yesCrate trained: MostlyHouse Trained: MostlyMia is a 3-year-old, 46-pound hound mix who's got the looks and the heart to match! Sweet, gentle, and full of affection, she’s the kind of dog who’ll win you over with one soft paw and a wag of her tail. She’s a little shy at first, but once she warms up, her loving, loyal personality will shine brighter than a golden retriever in a sunbeam. And if you’ve got a ball, stick, or squeaky toy, Mia’s ready to turn your backyard into the most intense game of fetch you’ve ever played. No toy is left behind!Mia gets along fabulously with other dogs, so if you’ve got a canine companion, she’ll fit right in. Don’t have a dog? No worries—she’ll do just fine solo, though she may occasionally demand a good game of tug-of-war with a willing partner. When meeting new dogs, Mia’s approach is a respectful sniff-and-say-hello, and then she’s ready to be fast friends. Mia is no stranger to cats and cohabitates with no problems, however, she has fixated on one of her foster’s three cats and likes to engage in games of chase. Zero aggression but with that, a home with dog-savvy cats is recommended. She has only been introduced to a 15 year old. She is very sweet and she would do fine with smaller humans, just hasn’t had any exposure. On the potty-training front, Mia is mostly house and crate trained. She spent a bit of time outside during the day, so she can be slow to alert sometimes, but with regular trips outside, she’s great about doing her business. She’s working on building her confidence on leash walks and is already showing improvement—she’s not quite a marathon runner yet, but she’s getting there!Mia is the kind of pup who just wants to be loved and give love right back. If you’re looking for a quiet, kind-hearted companion to snuggle with, Mia could be your perfect match. Could it be love at first sight? Please Note: All dogs are posted on our website until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line.
