Meet Smokey

Meet Smokey! A bright and gentle nine-month-old Labrador Retriever/Great Dane mix currently living in Lonoke, AR, whose sunny yellow coat and big puppy eyes are matched only by his sweet, curious nature. Smokey's early days were a bit wild—literally! He and his siblings roamed freely through the countryside, learning the rhythm of rural life on their own. But this lovable pup’s heart was always searching for something more: connection, care, and companionship. Since being brought into a foster setting, Smokey has blossomed in his own quiet way. Now living in a safe outdoor kennel, he’s been making the most of his new routine, building trust, learning a few basic commands like "sit" and "stop," and showing a knack for leash walking and car rides. Smokey is full of potential! His favorite thing in the world? Squeaky balls—he lights up with joy when he hears that delightful squeal! He plays well with other dogs and enjoys romping in a fenced yard. Smokey’s personality is a sweet mix of playful and polite—he’s friendly to new people, respectful in his interactions, and quietly attentive as he watches and learns the world around him. Since he’s been living in an outdoor kennel due to a full house of fellow rescues, Smokey hasn’t had indoor experience yet—but he’s eager to learn and ready for someone to help guide him with kindness, patience, and plenty of chew toys. Smokey would thrive in a dog-savvy home—one where his new family understands the rewarding journey of guiding a young, under-socialized pup into confident adulthood. A secure yard is a must for this boy who still has some growing to do (he's expected to reach around 70 pounds). With positive reinforcement and loving guidance, Smokey is ready to become a devoted companion, adventure buddy, and gentle-hearted shadow to someone special. Even better? Smokey isn’t the only pup ready for a new loving home—his equally adorable siblings Stryker, Snape, and Fuzzy Mack are also looking for families to call their own. Each pup brings their own personality and charm to the mix, and they’d love to meet caring folks ready to help them shine. Could Smokey (or one of his siblings) be the perfect addition to your family? Reach out to [email protected] to learn more—your new best friend might just be waiting!
