Meet Shelby

Here is a pooch who will turn a house into a Love Shack! Our boy Shelby is a happy, friendly male Terrier mix with a short brown and white coat. He is 3 years old and is a medium sized dog, weighing 38 pounds. He is a sweet boy with spunk and personality who will make a perfect pet for someone looking for a little love bug. A medium energy guy, Shelby was found as a stray and brought to a shelter. Eager for attention and affection, he believes there is no better place in the universe than a nice, warm lap! He has some itchiness and hair loss due to allergies, so a change in climate may prove helpful. He gets along beautifully with children and other dogs. Befriending a cat is not at his comfort level so Shelby will need a home with no resident cats. There are always big adjustments to be made when you live the life of a house dog. Shelby has put much effort and has made great strides in his skill set. With confidence, he can add the skills of house, crate and leash (harness) training to his resume. Although Shelby is proficient in his house training, it is important to remember that accidents can occur while he adjusts to a new home environment. Shelby will thrive with a family that understands the importance of providing training, exercise, socialization and a whole lotta love. Daily routines and patience will go a long way in helping him adjust to his new life and learn what it is like to be wanted and cared for. Shelby is truly ready to find his forever home. Do not delay if you believe that home is yours! The adoption fee for Shelby is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.

Adoption Process
Potential adopters must complete a comprehensive application, interview and home inspection. The final step in the process is explaination and completion of adoption contract. The adoption fee is $450 inclusive of all vetting and transportation charges.
