Meet Valentina

Cuter than cute! Valentina is an adorable looking pup at just 5 months. She is a hound/lab mix and will be in the medium size range (25-50 pounds) when fully grown. At this point she weighs 20 pounds.She has a short black and tan coat. Just look at the perfectly symmetrical coloring on her face. So cute! Valentina is a very friendly pup who loves to play with kids and dogs. It is not known if she has met a cat.Hounds and labs come in a variety of types. But their personalities can be similar as they are known to be inquisitive, friendly, and intelligent. They are often lively dogs with plenty of energy, as well as being agile. As to training, it is best to start at the beginning with crate and house skills. She is leash trained.Valentina will need someone who the time and patience for providing her with daily exercise, continued training and a bunch of socialization. Cheerful praise and lots of treats will go a long way in helping her master daily routines. It will be worth the time and effort as she becomes a devoted family member. Her house, crate and leash training skills are all in progress. Before she can spend time in a crate, she will need to have an established bathroom routine (always after eating, playing, sleeping, and before bedtime). Valentina will also need plenty of exercise and lots of attention before time in her crate. Having established a bathroom routine, been given lots of attention and exercise, she will be ready to be introduced to her new crate which must be a cozy, warm, and positive place. In the beginning she will only use it for short periods of time. Eventually, the time can be increased based on her comfortableness with this second home, maybe up to 4 hours. Several daily short walks (30 minutes) will reinforce leash skills as well as socialization skills. It will be a new world to her with all the new sights, smells, sounds, and people along her walk. She cannot become a running companion until she is at least a year old. At that point her growth plate will closed.At home she will also benefit from mental stimulation in the form of activities and play toys.A secure back yard will give her free time to play and burn off extra energy. Adoption Process
Potential adopters must complete a comprehensive application, interview and home inspection. The final step in the process is explaination and completion of adoption contract. The adoption fee is $450 inclusive of all vetting and transportation charges.
