BLANCHE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Blanche       Best Guess for Breed:   Hound mix   Best Guess for Age:  6 years as of May 2025         SEX:  Female   Approximate Weight: 51 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! This sweet girl landed in the shelter due to no fault of her own. She's eagerly looking forward to once again having her own humans for sniffy walks (that hound nose!), romps in parks, and all the adventures they can dream up. Being a wise and experienced dog way out of the puppy yips, she also knows what's most important - knowing where she belongs, being safe and loved for all her days. In exchange, she promises adoring gazes and all the love and loyalty in her body.  What do you say? Is Blanche the one for your home and your heart?   What shelter staff say about Blanche: Blanche spent some time on the Dogs Playing For Life Canine Center campus in Florida. There, she received basic training and enrichment, and socialized with other dogs. Blanche worked on the Sit and Place commands there. She also worked on loose leash walking and sitting at open doors, waiting to be released to go out. She also got to play with enrichment toys such as food-filled Kongs and food puzzles. She was very chill and gentle with other dogs she met - not playful, but pleasant and friendly.  What My Foster Says About Me:  We will update this once she has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with her foster. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Adoption Process
1. Complete Adoption Application 2. Phone interview, vet check and home visit. 3. Contract signed (requirements include keeping a pet ID on dog at all times, keeping the dog as a pet, spaying/neutering puppies by 6 monts of age, returning the pet to Lucky Dog in the adopter cannot take care of it at any point in the future, and providing adequate vet care for the rest of the dog's life.
