Petey and Furends

Petey and Furends is a certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 84-4819015) no-kill animal rescue organization that is dedicated to reducing instances of neglect, abuse, and homelessness in companion animals. To do this, we use research- and evidence-based practices to facilitate a matchmaking experience that will increase the rate of successful adoptions. All members of Petey and Furends are volunteers who dedicate their time and compassion to the animals.

Meet DIXIE

Name: Dixie Sex: Female Estimated Age: About 1 year old (as of 12/10) Best Guess for Breed: Spaniel Mix Weight: About 20 lbs Good With: Dogs and people! We haven’t seen her with kids or cats yet, but happy to test her out! Story: Dixie was rescued in North Carolina and is a super sweetie that loves all people and gets along great with other dogs. She knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with her humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Dixie is just looking for someone to be her new best furend and we know that she will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. As a young dog, Dixie will need an adopter who is committed to setting her up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising her both mentally and physically. She will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! If you think that Dixie might be your perfect match, apply today!

Adoption Process
Application, conversation with an experienced volunteer, landlord and/or vet check if applicapable, adoption fee ranging from $300-$400
