Husky Education And Rescue Team, Inc.

We are a 501(c) (3) nonprofit - pending animal rescue organization. Our organization saves, rehabilitates, and rehomes Siberian Huskies (and other breeds of dogs) who are abandoned and are in kill shelters. We provide medical and behavioral services and rehome them to compatible families. We do this through volunteer efforts. Most of the dogs in need will come from the Southern States where the shelter kill rate is higher. We have a network of foster homes along the East Coast, while our adoption locations can be found in Maryland and New Jersey.

Meet Sadie

Miss Sadie is one of the newest member of the H-E-A-R-T pack and part of our rescue mission to clear the Huskies out of our local shelter. Sadie was surrendered to the shelter after her owner was recently hospitalized and unable to care for her. We met her when we were there last weekend and knew we had to help her. She's 6 years old and just as sweet and polite as can be. She's a bit confused by what's happening. But don't let her mask and droopy eye lids fool you, she's not a sad girl, but a silly, sweet one. In a home where she'll get lots of attention, she will flourish! Sadie will make for a great first time Husky if you've been considering the breed but unsure about their antics. She's at an awesome age where she's outgrown much of the Husky stereotypes and is an amazing companion. Sadie is dog friendly but would be fine as an only dog. She does not like to be away from her people and will need a family who won't leave her for long periods of time. Sadie is a velcro dog and wants to be by your side. She is housebroken and good with respectful children. She has no handling issues and loves to snuggle. She's a good couch companion for a movie night. Sadie, like most Huskies, can be strong on a leash but walks well on our preferred harness. She loves to take in the smells on our walk. She is not overly vocal but when she does talk she sounds like a gremlin, LOL! She has such a deep voice for a little lady.   Sadie is spayed, current on her vaccines, microchipped and heartworm negative. She is located in MD. We can transport for an approved adopter. Adoption area is east coast states from CT to GA.

Adoption Process
A potential adopter must complete our adoption application at www.huskyrescueteam.org/apply and be screened including personal references, vet reference, rescue reference, phone interview and home check. Our adoption fee for an adult dog is $350 and they must execute our Adoption Contract
