Lucky Dog Animal Rescue

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals, primarily dogs from high-kill shelters and owners who can no longer care for them. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers, and boarding facilities, we are able to rescue hundreds of animals every year, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them well-matched, carefully screened forever homes. We also serve as a resource to our community and all pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition.

Meet Pongo

PONGO NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Pongo        Best Guess for Breed:  Shepherd and cattle dog  Best Guess for Age:   2 years as of April 2024       SEX:  Male   Approximate Weight: 45 lbs   Gets Along With:   Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids or cats but he can be tested   Currently Living at:  South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here   Special adoption considerations:    {example, no kids, needs second dog etc. Delete if not applicable}   Pongo is Looking For:   Pongo is looking for his home - more about that in a minute. What WE would love (in addition to a wonderful forever home for him, natch) is to know is what his actual breeds are. Those amazing radar dishes on his head, that coloring, the density of the coat, that body structure - they all look like they belong to different breeds!Pongo is every bit as awesome as his breed mix is. He is in his prime and has places to go, people and pups to meet! He's looking for humans who are up for all those adventures - sniffy walks, romps in the park, trips to the beach and the mountains. (He's also heard about pup cups and said he'll try them if you twist his paw.) Most of all, though, he wants to once again be a well loved dog under his own roof.    What do you say? Is Pongo the one you can see trotting by your side? What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update this once he has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with his foster Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
