Meet Dittmar
DITTMAR NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Come meet Dittmar and other great adoptable dogs this Saturday (Feb. 24th) from 12-2 pm at Unleashed by Petco in Arlington (5400 Langston Blvd., Arlington, VA 22207)! Name: Dittmar Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd mix Best Guess for Age: 15 weeks of 2/8/24 SEX: male Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!): 32lbs as of 2/8/24 Gets Along With: Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training. Currently Living at: DC area boarding facility Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy. Dittmar is Looking For: Hello! My siblings (Delaware, Drysdale, Daphne, and Daenerys) and I are super cute baby puppies who have loved our little puppy pile. We were found in a box on the side of the road, ice cold and hungry but thanks to Lucky Dog, we are now thriving! This is what I'm looking for: Snuggles! Play time! Ear rubs! Lots of toys! Cuddles! And soon - walks to explore the neighborhood - the local parks - the world! And education makes for a smart boi, so I want to go to puppy school too. I promise to give you lots of laughs and kisses and adoring gazes. What do you say? Do I get to grow up with you? What My Foster Says About Me: Dittmar is a sweet boy with a lot of energy! He loves going on long walks and is working hard on his leash manners. He likes his crate and will even go in there when he is tired during the day. He loves to play and be with his people. He plays a little rough, so needs someone who is patient with him when he gets a little mouthy and can teach him some redirection. He would do well in a home who can work with him on his play style and continue to help his flourish with his training! Puppy Vetting Requirements: Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog. Due to this puppy’s young age, she/he has not yet been spayed or neutered. As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than April 20, 2024. There are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date. A non-refundable spay/neuter deposit will be collected if you would like Lucky Dog to pay for this animal to be spayed/neutered at one of our low cost partner vets. Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog! TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.
