SIMON NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Simon Best Guess for Breed: Lab and basset hound mix Best Guess for Age: 7 months as of September 2024 SEX: Male Approximate Weight: 22 lbs as of 9/7/24; he is still growing! Gets Along With: Simon is good with other dogs! He's also done well living with the cat in his foster home. We haven't seen him with kids but he can be tested. Currently Living at: DC area foster home Special Adoption Considerations: After being rescued from the streets, he was very scared and shut down. However, he has been making great strides. We think Simon would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure he can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to continue to build confidence. Simon is Looking For: His forever home! Simon is from a Puerto Rico shelter, barely out of puppyhood, and hasn't seen nearly enough of the world. He's eager to get his own humans in the DC area. Long sniffy walks, romps in the park, all the adventures his new family can dream up - yes, please! Making new pup and people pals along the way sounds great to him too. Most of all, though, he wants to know he's safe and loved and under his own roof. He's a Very Good Boy who will make an awesome, loyal, loving companion. What do you say? Will he be yours? What My Foster Says About Me: Simon is a very sweet, happy, playful and outgoing boy. He loves going for walks, exploring new places and doesn't pull on the leash. He's always ready to play whether that's with other dogs, humans or toys. Considering that Simon is from the streets of Puerto Rico and has never lived in a home before, he's been doing great. He doesn't try to get into trash or other shenanigans. He's still working on potty training and adjusting to the fact he has to be alone sometimes, but I think he'll get there with some patience and training. Simon is a fantastic telework buddy and quietly snoozes or plays with his toys while I work. His favorite time is meal time and he'll gobble up anything you offer him. He's also yet to meat a treat he hasn't liked. Simon is a very good, happy-go-lucky boy and doesn't let much get him down! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
