MOOCH NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Mooch Best Guess for Breed: Border collie mix Best Guess for Age: 4 months as of 2/14/23 SEX: Male Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!): 24 lbs as of 2/14/23 Gets Along With: Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training. Currently Living at: local dc area foster home Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy. Mooch is Looking For: Woof! I'd like a lap or two to snuggle on and a big puppy bed to rest my big floppy paws. I'd like to request lots of time outside on walks around the neighborhood and on adventures, and I'd love plenty of opportunities to meet other pups and humans. I'd also love to go to puppy school so I learn how to manage my silly puppy body with manners and grace. I promise you lots of love and tail wags and loyal companionship. What do you say? Do I get to grow up with you? What My Foster Says About Me: Mooch is doing great! He’s such a sweet, friendly, gentle, fluffy, soft and fun pup! He has started listening to commands and enjoys being in his crate. His energy level is moderate for his age so far, making him very manageable. He loves to play with his toys in the yard and then is happy to come inside and snuggle up for a nap. He’s good about chewing on his own toys and not other things around the house, although every now and then he does try to gently nibble on his humans, so we’re working on that. He can be very goofy at times, bringing us lots of laughs. He’s such a joy to have around! Puppy Vetting Requirements: Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog. Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog! TO ADOPT: Until 3/15/23, the adoption fee for this puppy is $425, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter. Sadly, raising costs of veterinary care require that we raise our adoption fees. On 3/15/23, the adoption fee for puppies will be $485.
