Lucky Dog Animal Rescue

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals, primarily dogs from high-kill shelters and owners who can no longer care for them. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers, and boarding facilities, we are able to rescue hundreds of animals every year, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them well-matched, carefully screened forever homes. We also serve as a resource to our community and all pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition.

Meet Freedom

FREEDOM NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Freedom and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (May 5th) from 12-3 pm at the PETSMART in ALEXANDRIA (3351 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22305)!     Name:   Freedom            Best Guess for Breed:   Pointer and shepherd mix    Best Guess for Age: 6 months as of April 2024          SEX:   Female   Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):   14.6 lbs as of 4/20/24   Gets Along With:  |Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.   Currently Living at:  South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get her Freedom ride up here!   Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.  Freedom is Looking For:  Her forever home! Freedom may not be a tiny squishy puppy any longer but she's still essentially an older baby who hasn't seen nearly enough of the world yet and is eagerly looking forward to doing so with her new humans. In her new chapter, she envisions long sniffy walks, romps in parks, and all the adventures her family can dream up. She wants to make new pup and people pals along the way. Exploring all the toys to see what she likes best, quality kibble, and a cushy dog bed are on her wish list as well.    Freedom is going to be a pretty terrific size when she's full grown - perfect for lap cuddling yet big enough to traverse various types of terrain. What do you say? Does she get to do both with you?   What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once she has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with her foster. Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!  TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.    If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.   Thank you for contacting Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and helping to save a life! Please visit us online at        www.luckydoganimalrescue.org       .
