Meet Marley - ADOPTED!!

Meet Marley. This sweet girl was rescued from a backyard breeder and came to us in need of some TLC. She was long overdue for vet care and needed multiple mammary tumors removed, which is not uncommon in unspayed female dogs used for breeding. We are happy to report that the tumors were removed, biopsied, and confirmed benign! This sweet pup has now been spayed, and her new life is about to begin. When Marley came to the rescue, she was understandably shy at first and didn’t understand the love of family or the comforts of home life. Fast forward six weeks, and she is flourishing in her foster home, learning to trust that she will cared for. Marley is a very sweet, gentle soul, and has transformed into a happy little dog. She still has some PTSD and anxiety from her past life — she will pace and walk in circles when she’s nervous and cries when she’s startled by touch…It’s improving with time, and she is learning that life can be so much better than what she knew. Marley is being fostered with two other dogs and is very respectful of them but not super connected…she's more neutral. She has just started to play with one of the dogs and is showing interest in toys for the first time, so she’s still evolving. She’s very focused on her human and will lie beside her foster mom on the couch and sleeps snuggled up in her bed at night. She’s quite the agile pup and can easily hop up on the bed even though she’s a tiny little thing. Marley is house-trained and is starting to find her bark…She barks when her pup companions bark and is learning how to be part of a pack. She is shy with visitors at first but does warm up. She really loves to be petted now and will raise her little paw asking for pets..it’s super adorable. She does well in the car, but has not been tested on leash yet...Now that she's recovered from surgery, her foster mom will test her out on leash and start getting her comfortable with it.  This sweet little dog is very adaptable and accommodating. She would do best in a calm home and would be fine as an only dog or with some calm pup companions. We hope to find an owner who is retired or works from home, and has time to spoil her and give her the love and attention she really needs to finish her transformation. Apply today!
