DIABLO NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Diablo Best Guess for Breed: Schipperke and chow mix Best Guess for Age: 3.5 years as of June 2025 SEX: Male Approximate Weight: 23 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: {FOSTER HOME OR SHELTER. If in shelter, please be sure to re-state a foster is needed.} Special adoption considerations: Diablo is a truly Lucky Dog. He tested positive for heartworms, but landed in a place where heartworm treatment is provided! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. We are happy to discuss where in the treatment process this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Diablo is Looking For: Seriously, just LOOK at this little guy! The stubby legs, the fluffy face and body. This utterly adorable pup is not the devil or any relation to it. He's just a pup who landed in the shelter due to no fault of his own. He's closed that chapter and is oh so eager to once again have his own humans for sniffy walks (his nose IS awfully closer to the ground!) and all the adventures they can dream up. And snuggles at the end of a fun day together (and yeah, might want to brush out that coat too - he doesn't want any mats!). Quality kibble and a cushy bed round out his wish list but you know what he wants most of all? To know he's safe and loved and under his own roof. In exchange he promises love and loyalty - and always to make you smile just by looking at him. What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once he has spent some time in foster care, Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
