LUCILLE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:   Lucille          Best Guess for Breed:  Basset hound and terrier mix Best Guess for Age:   2 years as of April 2024        SEX:    Female   Approximate Weight:  29 lbs   Gets Along With:    Other dogs! We haven't seen her with kids or cats but she can be tested   Currently Living at:   South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get her freedom ride up here.    Check out this video of Lucille:   https://youtu.be/SCdsqdchdJg.   Lucille is Looking For:  Her forever home! This sweetie with the super adorable short, stubby legs landed in the shelter due to no fault of her own. She's looking ahead to the time when she will have her own humans for long sniffy walks (hey, look at those legs. if she's got Basset in her - that hound nose is gonna work overtime!), romps in the park, and all the adventures they can dream up. Including pup cups from Starbucks - she's heard about those and is up for trying them! Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed are on her wish list as well.    But you know what? She's out of the puppy yips and as an experienced dog in her prime, she knows what's most important: Being safe and loved and under her own roof. In exchange, she promises adoring gazes and tail wags and loyal companionship. What do you say? Is that what you're looking for? What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update this once she has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with her foster Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Adoption Process
1. Complete Adoption Application 2. Phone interview, vet check and home visit. 3. Contract signed (requirements include keeping a pet ID on dog at all times, keeping the dog as a pet, spaying/neutering puppies by 6 monts of age, returning the pet to Lucky Dog in the adopter cannot take care of it at any point in the future, and providing adequate vet care for the rest of the dog's life.
