Adopt A Homeless Animal Rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form. We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Meet Thor

We got a desperate plea for help from Liz in Texas but willing to drive Thor ANYHWERE to save him. From Liz: “Do you all have a spot for Thor at your rescue?  Before you say no please hear me out.  Thor turned 3 this year. He is so good with people. He is very smart and listens well. He loves giving hugs and kisses. He also loves to cuddle. He’s crate trained, house trained, and potty trained. He doesn’t tear things up if you were to leave him in the house alone. He loves chewing on the super chewer toys that come in a the bark boxes. He is a leash puller but loves to go on walks.  Up until know he was the best well behaved dog anyone could ask for. Recently he become reactive and dog selective. We took him to the vet and did a full blood work panel as well as checked for pain to rule that out and everything came back normal.  We know it isn’t his fault but now I am faced with the decision to rehome him or euthanize him…as much as I would love to provide the life he deserves. We can’t give him that with all our factors (a lot of other dogs in the home). But I am willing to travel anywhere to place him in a better life.  Euthanizing is the last thing I want to do but if I can’t place him or take him somewhere in the next few days I will have no other option. I have 5 other little dogs with me. He would thrive in a home as a solo dog. He deserves it no matter his history.  Please let me know if y’all would be able to help or if you know anyone. We live in Texas and I can head out to any state as soon as I have a green light from you.  I am also willing to sponsor him until placed in a forever home.  Thank you.”   He has not been around young kids but has been good with teenagers in the home. He hasn’t been around cats either.  Contact Liz at (830) 444-1428 or [email protected] if you can save Thor from euthanasia.     Disclaimer: AAHA provides complimentary listings for members of the community who wish to rehome their pet, as well as for other shelters/ rescues to assist them in finding Furever homes. Courtesy posted pets are not affiliated with AAHA rescue. Unfortunately, there is not enough space or resources to admit every animal to our rescue that needs a furever home. But, we still want to help those in need along their journey! By courtesy posting, we are offering our website/network as an additional outlet to help an owner or rescue gain additional exposure for the animal they are trying to place. AAHA can make no representation about courtesy posted pets including the health or suitability for adoption and accepts no liability in this exchange. Arrangements for adoptions are made between the Caretaker of the pet and the potential Adopter.

Adoption Process
We do require an adoption application, and once this is approved, followed by a home visit and adoption fee $175.
