Meet Sheldon
SHELDON NEEDS A SPECIAL FOREVER HOME!!!! Come meet Sheldon and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (September 9th) from 12-3 pm at the Petsmart in Rockville (5154 Nicholson Ln, Kensington, MD 20895) Name: Sheldon Best Guess for Breed: Shih tzu and Yorkie mix Best Guess for Age: 3 years as of July 2024 SEX: Male Approximate Weight: 11.5 pounds as of August 2024 Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids or cats but he can be tested Currently Living at: DC Foster Home. Sheldon needs a forever family! Special Adoption Considerations: Sheldon needs a special home that can help manage some neurological issues -- none of which slow him down. Sheldon is Looking For: His forever family! This sweet small boy landed in the shelter through no fault of his own. He's eager for his new chapter, the one where he gets his own humans for sniffy walks and lots of TLC. He'd also like adopters who understand his long coat needs daily brushing and regular professional grooming - he arrived heavily matted and had to be shaved down. Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed are high on his wish list as well but what he wants most of all is to know he's safe and loved and under his own roof. In exchange, he promises adoring gazes and cuddles and loyal companionship for all his days. What do you say? Is Sheldon the one you have been looking for? What My Foster Says About Me: Overall he seems very content being cuddled a lot. He struggles with sight, but he does respond to sound. When we call his name he pauses and looks up. He’s very sweet and seems curious about my dogs when they are near. He doesn’t mind resting his head against them or exchanging sniffs. He continues to eat well and has begun to bark to let us know when he is hungry! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
