ZACK NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Zack and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (May 7th) from 12-3 pm at PetSmart Potomac Yard in Alexandria (3351 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22305)!       Name:  Zack            Best Guess for Breed:  Pug mix      Best Guess for Age:  10 weeks as of 5/1            SEX:  Male   Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):  13 lbs as of 5/1   Gets Along With:  Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.   Currently Living at: DC area foster home   Special Adoption Considerations:  Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.  Zack is Looking For:  Hiya! I'm Zack! I've loved hanging out with my mama Zuri and siblings Zamira, Zary, Zelle, Zen, Zoro, Zev, and Zebra, but I'm ready to leave the nest and find my very own forever home! I'd like to request lots of toys and, of course, treats. Some snuggles would be amazing. Once I'm a bit older, I'd love to explore my new neighborhood by taking lots of walks and going on other adventures. Truth be told, I'd like to conqueror the world! I'd also love plenty of opportunities to make friends with the other dogs in my neighborhood. What do you say? Am I the pup for you? What My Foster Says About Me:  The Z puppies are literally the easiest pups we've ever fostered. They are so good---they adore people and are great listeners. They come when we call them and are so well behaved. They are the sweetest! Puppy Vetting Requirements:  Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.      Due to this puppy’s young age, she/he has not yet been spayed or neutered.  As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than August 18, 2023. There are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date. A non-refundable spay/neuter deposit will be collected if you would like Lucky Dog to pay for this animal to be spayed/neutered at one of our low cost partner vets.   Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!  TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.    If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Adoption Process
1. Complete Adoption Application 2. Phone interview, vet check and home visit. 3. Contract signed (requirements include keeping a pet ID on dog at all times, keeping the dog as a pet, spaying/neutering puppies by 6 monts of age, returning the pet to Lucky Dog in the adopter cannot take care of it at any point in the future, and providing adequate vet care for the rest of the dog's life.
