Lucky Dog Animal Rescue

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals, primarily dogs from high-kill shelters and owners who can no longer care for them. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers, and boarding facilities, we are able to rescue hundreds of animals every year, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them well-matched, carefully screened forever homes. We also serve as a resource to our community and all pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition.

TRAVIS NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Travis      Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd mix   Best Guess for Age: 2 years as of December 2023        SEX:   Male   Approximate Weight:  39 lbs   Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats but he can be tested. Travis likes spending time with adults and would prefer a quieter home without kids.   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home.   Travis is Looking For:  His forever family! This handsome gent is out of the puppy yips and into the awesome, sweet, loving - and still energetic - adult dog stage! He is up for all those great adventures with his new humans! Sniffy walks around the neighborhood, exploring forests and park paths, maybe visiting a dog park to see if he likes it, experiments to see if he likes ropes for tug or plush squeaky toys better... there's so much he would like to see and do! And - he'd like to know he's safe and loved and under his own roof. In exchange he promises lots of tail wags, kisses, and loyal companionship for all his days. How does that sound? Is Travis the one you can see trotting by your side on all your outings? What My Foster Says About Me:  Travis has been doing great here for his first day! He likes to play in short spurts with my high energy puppy, but otherwise he’s content snuggling with us on the couch. He’s been enjoying walks, though it’s taking him some time to learn he is safe going potty outside. He’s been curling up at my feet and snuggling any chance he gets. On walks, he likes to say hi to other dogs and people. He’s such a good boy, and has played well with my neighbor’s tiny dogs as well as my 50 pound dog. He’s the perfect dog, and we can’t wait to find him his perfect home.  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
