Lucky Dog Animal Rescue

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals, primarily dogs from high-kill shelters and owners who can no longer care for them. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers, and boarding facilities, we are able to rescue hundreds of animals every year, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them well-matched, carefully screened forever homes. We also serve as a resource to our community and all pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition.

MELONIE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Melonie      Best Guess for Breed: Dachshund mix Best Guess for Age: 5 years as of July 2023       SEX:   Female   Approximate Weight:  14lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen her with kids or cats, but she can be tested.    Currently Living at:  South Carolina shelter    Melonie is Looking For:   This elongated cutie is looking for a family that can give her a lots of attention and belly rubs! She'd love her very own hoomans to explore the world with and trot alongside eagerly. In return, she promises to snuggle up by your feet whilst you work and give you lots of adoring gazes!   What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once she has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with her foster.  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Adoption Process
1. Complete Adoption Application 2. Phone interview, vet check and home visit. 3. Contract signed (requirements include keeping a pet ID on dog at all times, keeping the dog as a pet, spaying/neutering puppies by 6 monts of age, returning the pet to Lucky Dog in the adopter cannot take care of it at any point in the future, and providing adequate vet care for the rest of the dog's life.
