DIXIE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:   Dixie       Best Guess for Breed:  Beagle and hound mix Best Guess for Age:  8 months as of April 2025        SEX:  Female   Approximate Weight: 28 lbs as of 5/2/25; she is likely still growing.    Gets Along With: Other dogs!We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:  South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get her freedom ride up here.    See this playful young girl in this video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gec4-rQrEik   Dixie is Looking For:   Her forever home! This pretty girl isn't even a year old and hasn't seen nearly enough of the world. She's looking forward to having her own humans to show her all of the exciting things life has to offer. Sniffy walks (that hound nose!), playdates with pup pals, and new adventures are on her to-do list! Oh, and LOTS of cuddles!Most of all, though, she wants to know she's safe and loved. In exchange, she promises all the adoring gazes and happy tail wags she's storing up, and loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say? Are you ready for all those adventures with Dixie? What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update this once she has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with her foster.  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Adoption Process
1. Complete Adoption Application 2. Phone interview, vet check and home visit. 3. Contract signed (requirements include keeping a pet ID on dog at all times, keeping the dog as a pet, spaying/neutering puppies by 6 monts of age, returning the pet to Lucky Dog in the adopter cannot take care of it at any point in the future, and providing adequate vet care for the rest of the dog's life.
