Lucky Dog Animal Rescue

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals, primarily dogs from high-kill shelters and owners who can no longer care for them. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers, and boarding facilities, we are able to rescue hundreds of animals every year, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them well-matched, carefully screened forever homes. We also serve as a resource to our community and all pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition.

Meet Hank

HANK NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!   Come meet Hank and other great adoptable dogs this Saturday (March 18th) from 12-2 pm at Dogma Bakery in Arlington (2772 S Arlington Mill Dr, Arlington, VA 22206)!!     Name: Hank       Best Guess for Breed: Hound mix Best Guess for Age: 3 years as of February 2023      SEX:  Male   Approximate Weight: 75 lbs   Gets Along With:  Hank is good with dogs! He has lived with cats and with younger children - and done well with them all!   Currently Living at: DC area foster home   Check out these videos of Hank: https://youtu.be/QYAgOT76Q14 and https://youtu.be/S0dAS7v6JeQ.     Hank is Looking For: His forever family! He was found on the road near our South Carolina shelter partner location, trying to get into cars. Shelter staff searched for his people, but no one ever claimed him. He went into a shelter foster home with cats and two young children and is doing great. His shelter foster says he came in knowing outside is for potty, is good in his crate, and walks well on leash.  Hank was once someone's pet. He had humans to love. Now what he wants most of all is to once again have his own family to love and to be safe and loved - this time, for all his days. He's ready to accompany his people on sniffy walks (with that hound nose!) and all the adventures they can dream up.  What do you say? Will you be Hank's forever? In exchange, he promises loyal companionship.  What My DC Area Foster Says About Me: Hank is a total angel! He's quiet and not super energy. He loves playing with other dogs and hasn't met a person he hasn't instantly loved. He's such a good boy!  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:   Until 3/15/23 the adoption fee for this dog is $400, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Sadly, rising costs of veterinary care require that we raise our adoption fees.  On 3/15/23, the adoption fee for dogs will be $460.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at  bit.ly/adoptaluckydog  .   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.   Thank you for contacting Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and helping to save a life!
