Meet Ellie

Ellie is a smart, sweet, energetic, well behaved, and affectionate australian shepherd mix who needs a new forever home.  She was found on the street in 2023 and was barely 10 lbs.  Since then, she has been fostered in a home where unfortunately, the foster mom has become allergic to her and does not have the time to get her the exercise and training that a young Aussie loves and needs. She walks well on a leash; is crate and house trained and loves taking car rides. She currently lives with a small yorkie and has one black lab friend.  She enjoys being with kids and teens. She learns quickly, and after only 3 professional training sessions now responds to basic commands, SIT, DOWN, STAY and DROP IT.  She  can be reactive to dogs she does not know when walking on a leash, or protective of her food with another dog.  But, like  all smart shepherds, she will benefit from consistent training in order to learn how to socialize well with other dogs. Ellie will be the loyal and devoted companion dog in a home with a family or person who is knowledgeable about the shepherd breed, and who has the love and lots of time to spend with her walking, playing, exercising and training.  PLEASE NOTE : THE DOG LISTED IS SHOWN AS A COURTESY TO ANOTHER ORGANIZATION OR FOR AN INDIVIDUAL WHO NEEDS TO FIND A NEW HOME FOR THEIR DOG.
