BOOMER NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Boomer Best Guess for Breed: Dachshund and feist mix Best Guess for Age: 4 years as of March 2024 SEX: Male Approximate Weight: 21 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs and kids! We haven't seen him with cats but he can be tested Currently Living at: DC area foster home. Boomer Is Looking For: His forever family! This super cute elongated boy had a home and ended up in the shelter due to no fault of his own. He's looking forward to his new chapter, eagerly awaiting all the sniffy walks he will get with his new humans - he's awfully good at keeping up on those short stubby legs - romps in the park, and all the adventures they can dream up. He's well out of the puppy yips and as a wise, experienced dog, knows what's most important in life: Being safe and loved and under his own roof, and that's right at the top of his wish list. In exchange, he offers all the adoring gazes and happy tail wags he's stockpiling at the shelter - lots of laughs at his doggy antics - and loyal companionship for all his days. What do you say? Can you see Boomer down there by your ankles? What My Foster Says About Me: Boomer is an amazing little dog. He hasn't had any accidents in the house, and seems to be happy in his crate. He plays very well with our dog. They share food and toys and even bones easily. Boomer's medium energy. Likes to play in the yard with balls and his toys. Happy to go for a walk, but just as happy to cuddle on the couch next to humans. He LOVES his humans and cannot get enough attention and affection. He's very food motivated and very trainable, although already a pretty polite dog. He's good with our kids, who love on him a lot. Boomer can get overwhelmed if there are too many people in his face at once and will gently growl when they need to back off. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
