New Rattitude, Inc.

New Rattitude is a national, all-volunteer non-profit rescue/adoption agency whose mission is to rescue Rat Terriers (and mixes that are predominantly Rat Terrier) from imminent death at animal shelters, the streets, abusive/neglectful homes, or from owners who can no longer keep a dog, and to rehome the dogs into new and permanent, screened and approved adoptive homes. Each dog rescued is cared for in a safe and nurturing foster care environment where he or she receives appropriate medical care, a high quality diet, training and socialization. To achieve these ends, the organization is involved with transportation, volunteer recruiting and training, mentoring, fund-raising, and establishing and maintaining other programs deemed helpful to achieving the mission of rescuing and re-homing Rat Terriers.

Meet August, an adorable 6-month-old rat terrier puppy with a heart full of playful spirit! He is a "type B" or "teddy" rat terrier with short legs that came to New Rattitude from a former breeder. This charming little guy, weighing in at a petite 8 lbs., is a striking black and tan with gorgeous ears and he is ready to find his forever family.August is a toy enthusiast and loves nothing more than a good romp with his favorite squeaky or crinkly toys. He likes other small dogs to play with, but a human is also a good substitute if there isn't another dog around. He's a fearless explorer of the world, tackling new adventures with gusto – well, almost. The one thing that gives this brave pup pause is a windy day, but even then, a comforting cuddle can make all the difference.While August is full of youthful energy and enthusiasm, he's still learning the ropes (like where to potty) and would thrive with a patient family dedicated to his training. With a little love, consistency, and positive reinforcement, he's sure to blossom into an amazing companion. He's already walking well on a leash and sleeping quietly in a crate, so he is well on his way.
