Lucky Dog Animal Rescue

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals, primarily dogs from high-kill shelters and owners who can no longer care for them. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers, and boarding facilities, we are able to rescue hundreds of animals every year, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them well-matched, carefully screened forever homes. We also serve as a resource to our community and all pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition.

Meet Amiga

AMIGA NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Come meet Amiga and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (Sept. 22nd) from 12-3 pm at the Petsmart in Silver Spring (12020 Cherry Hill Road, Silver Spring, MD 20904)!   Name:    Amiga        Best Guess for Breed:    Chihuahua & Terrier Best Guess for Age:    2 years as of Aug 2024        Gender:    female Approximate Weight:    10.5 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids yet but she can be tested.  We would be cautious placing Amiga in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare small breed dogs with their level of energy or noise.  Children would need to be supervised closely to ensure their interactions with the dog are calm and gentle in nature.  We would be happy to discuss this more in depth with any applicant. Currently Living At: Our South Carolina rescue campus. She needs a foster or adopter to secure her freedom ride to the DMV.  Meet Amiga: Pint-Sized Pup from Texas that’s ready to be Your Friend Forever A TexMex Lover with a Big Heart Amiga is a 10 lb, 2-year-old Chihuahua mix who’s ready to bring a little bit of Texas charm into your life. This sweet girl comes to Lucky Dog from near the Mexico border, and she’s got a love for TexMex, walks, outdoor adventures, and, of course, belly rubs. Good with Other Dogs Amiga gets along well with other dogs, making her a great addition to a multi-pet household. She enjoys the company of furry friends and would love to share her new home with a canine buddy or two. Looking for a Forever Family Amiga became homeless through no fault of her own, and now she’s searching for a forever family who will return her unconditional love and never let her go. She’s ready to fill your days with joy, companionship, and plenty of affection. Adoption Information Are you ready to welcome Amiga into your heart and home?
