Lucky Dog Animal Rescue

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals, primarily dogs from high-kill shelters and owners who can no longer care for them. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers, and boarding facilities, we are able to rescue hundreds of animals every year, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them well-matched, carefully screened forever homes. We also serve as a resource to our community and all pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition.

Meet Quinn

QUINN NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Name:  Quinn         Best Guess for Breed:  Beagle and hound mix  Best Guess for Age:   4 years as of March 2024        SEX:  Male   Approximate Weight: 20 lbs   Gets Along With:   Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids or cats but he can be tested   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home.   Special adoption considerations: Quinn is shy and needs to go to a home with a welcoming resident dog to show him the ropes. Because of his shy personality, we do not recommend him for a home with children under the age of 12.       Quinn is Looking For: His forever family! This sweetie had a home and ended up in the shelter due to no fault of his own. He's looking forward to his new chapter, eagerly awaiting all the sniffy walks he will get with his new humans (that beagle nose!), romps in the park, and all the adventures they can dream up. He's well out of the puppy yips and as a wise, experienced dog, knows what's most important in life: Being safe and loved and under his own roof, and that's right at the top of his wish list.    In exchange, he offers all the adoring gazes and happy tail wags he's stockpiling at the shelter - lots of laughs at his doggy antics - and loyal companionship for all his days. What do you say? Is Quinn the one for your home and your heart? What My Foster Says About Me: Quinn is doing well and is very comfortable in an apartment. At times he is a little nervous when out on walks, but he is becoming more confident and is eager to explore. He’s happy in his crate and seems fine whenever I've left. Quinn is quite content to relax during the day while I'm working from home.  4/19/24 foster update: Quinn is a very sweet dog who is happy to play inside the house, but gets nervous when out on walks. He is especially fearful of men and boys, although he is slowly becoming more comfortable with my husband.Quinn‘s confidence is noticeably better when another dog joins us on his walks. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
