GEMMIE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Gemmie and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (08/10) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Kensington, MD (5154 Nicholson Ln, Kensington, MD 20895)!   Name: Gemmie          Best Guess for Breed:  Retriever/shepherd mix    Best Guess for Age:  10 months as of August 2025          SEX:  female   Approximate Weight:  41lbs as of 8/1/2025 - might have a bit more to grow   Gets Along With: We haven't seen them with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:  SC Rescue Campus - needs a foster!   Gemmie is Looking For:   Her forever home! This sweetie is at the tail end of puppyhood and ready to see the world! She's eagerly looking forward to having her own humans for sniffy walks and all the adventures they can dream up. And dog school so she can show how super smart she is. And then pets and cuddles and belly scritches at the end of a fun day together. And she'll want quality kibble and a cushy dog bed. Most of all, though, she wants to know she's safe and loved. In exchange she promises all the adoring gazes and happy tail wags she's storing up, and loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say? Can you see me by your side? Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Adoption Process
1. Complete Adoption Application 2. Phone interview, vet check and home visit. 3. Contract signed (requirements include keeping a pet ID on dog at all times, keeping the dog as a pet, spaying/neutering puppies by 6 monts of age, returning the pet to Lucky Dog in the adopter cannot take care of it at any point in the future, and providing adequate vet care for the rest of the dog's life.
