Underhound Railroad

Underhound Railroad was formed in 2009 by a group of friends, with a mission of rescuing innocent dogs from death row in Connecticut shelters. Underhound now tries to help wherever possible, focusing primarily in the southern parts of the country where shelters are overcrowded and the killing of adoptable dogs is prevalent. Through a network of volunteers, an undeserved death is prevented, medical needs are tended to, and transportation, as well as a loving foster family, are provided to the pups on their journey to finding their forever homes!

Meet Ellie

Meet Ellie, a sweet and smart 1 year old mix breed who’s ready to find her furever family! Ellie is house trained, walks great on a leash, and absolutely adores her chew toys and stuffed animals. One of her cutest habits? Carrying her favorite stuffies around while wagging her tail. She’s gentle and easygoing, also great with kids and cats. Ellie doesn't mind bubble bath time either! While she hasn’t been fully introduced to other dogs in her foster home, she’s shown no issues with dogs or people on walks.
