Pet Adoption Services, Inc

Pet Adoption Services, Inc. is a non-profit all breed cat and dog rescue organization in New Orleans. Supported by over 20 volunteer members, Pet Adoption Services was founded in 1996, although some of our members have been involved in rescue for as long as 20 years. Our mission is to secure loving permanent homes for homeless, abandoned or abused cats and dogs of all breeds. While awaiting adoption, our animals live in the homes of one of our foster parents. During this time the animals receive any necessary veterinary care, including but not limited to, vaccinations, spaying or neutering and perhaps heartworm treatment. Our experienced foster parents continually assess each pet's personality and temperament allowing us to place adoptable cats and dogs in just the right permanent home.

Meet Princess Marie

Prancing Princess Marie is just as sweet and loving as can be. She plays well with other dogs but prefers to play with dogs her size that are well-mannered and aren't dominant. She is well-suited for being someone's exercise partner on a nice long walk. Toys and a fenced backyard to hang out with her people and catch a few rays are some of her favorite things. Although, Marie, can take sunbathing to an extreme and has to be reminded that it's time to go inside or get in the shade. Kisses are a must with this girl. She feels strongly that she is not too big to be a lap dog, and thinks lap time is the best time for ear scritchies.  Marie knows basic commands quite well and is housebroken.   Princess Marie is current on vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped. She is current on flea preventative and heartworm preventative, and has tested negative for heartworms. If you are interested in meeting Marie, please complete a  Dog Adoption Application *Local adoptions only (within 1 hour of New Orleans). We do NOT ship animals. Home check is required, therefore, we will be delivering this pet to your home.  Our adoptions include a foster period of 4-6 weeks so that you can be sure that this pet is a good fit without any pressure, and we are available to answer any behavior or training questions during that time (and beyond, if you wish).

Adoption Process
The adoption fee for animals adopted through PAS ranges from $75 up to $250 for pure breed pets. The average adoption fee is $150. All animals offered for adoption are spayed or neutered, heartworm negative or undergoing treatment, up to date on vaccinations, have undergone an intestinal parasite check and are verified to be in good health by our participating veterinarians. Adoption also includes microchip. In addition to completing an adoption contract, potential adopters should be prepared to agree to a veterinarian reference check and home visit. A valid drivers license or state I.D. card is required. This simple yet thorough screening process allows us to place the right animal in your committed, loving home.
