Hi, everyone. My name is Boise. Like the other potatoes that come from Idaho, I'm sure to be loved by all! I am about 6 months old, 40 pounds and a mix of some sort. I ended up in a shelter as a stray puppy and ran out of time there. Adopt A Pit stepped in and saved me just in time. That's how I ended up in a foster home. I'm learning all of the stuff a dog is supposed to know. I've already learned so much in a short time and am a very fast learner. I'm very treat motivated and that really helps. I walk very nicely on a leash and stay close to my person. I love riding in the car, playing with toys, hanging out in the yard with other dogs, and making new friends. If you're looking for a new best friend, I'm your guy!
Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
