Meet Keanu

Did someone leave the redbone coonhound in the dryer too long? Meet KEANU, a ridiculously handsome SMALL dog -- 7 months old and just 21 pounds. He's a little too thin, but we expect he'll stay in the 25 pound range when fully grown. His breed mix is a mystery -- he looks like a tiny redbone! He's probably some mix of red beagle, terrier and 10 other breeds. Keanu is lively and playful and needs a home where he will get plenty of exercise. When it's time to settle he's an absolute love bug. He's so photogenic and loves to pose for photos. Keanu likes toys and treats and running around in a physically-fenced yard. He would be so happy to find a home with another playful fur sibling. If you'd like to meet this gorgeous bundle of fun, please fill out an adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Keanu at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate if he's still available. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. A deposit is required to take a dog home for a trial period. The deposit will be applied to the dog’s final adoption fee.

Adoption Process
We offer Foster To Adopt for dogs adoptions. You must complete the application, be approved and pay a $100 deposit ($150 puppies). You can then take the dog home for a trial visit of up to one week This will help you determine if you and the dog are the right match. If yes, then you can finalize the adoption. If no, then you return the dog to us and you are welcome to try a different dog. complete the necessary paperwork and pay a $100 deposit for adult dogs and $150 for puppies (cash, check or credit card). This fee is non-refundable, and will be applied to the adoption fee if you decide to finalize the adoption. The adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter surgery, parvo/distemper shots and rabies shots (for dogs over 6 months), deworming, microchipping, flea and tick protection, heartworm testing (for dogs over 6 months), and monthly heartworm protection until the dog gets adopted.
