It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.

ay hello to Dorothy —a total sweetheart with a heart full of love and a lap-dog personality. Dorothy adores giving kisses and will even try to wrap her little paws around you for a hug. Her favorite place? Curled up in your lap, napping the day away.Potty training is going great! She’ll either head to the door to let you know she needs out, or use a potty pad if she gets too excited. Smart and polite, Dorothy knows when it's mealtime and will sit patiently until her food is served. She doesn’t beg at the table but absolutely loves a good snack!She’s also wonderful with cats—she enjoys trying to play or give them gentle licks, and only chases if they instigate the fun.Dorothy is sweet, cuddly, well-mannered, and ready to find her forever home.
