Meet JESTER (bonded with Rowan)

ROWAN (female, 11 years old, red) and JESTER (male, 10 years old, blonde) are a bonded pair of Shih Tzus looking for a new home where they can stay together. Rowan and Jester were the well-loved fur babies of an elderly couple, both of whom have passed away. Rowan and Jester received excellent care throughout their lives and are in great shape, both are 14 lbs. They are sweet and friendly and accustomed to life in a quiet home. They are fully housebroken and crate trained, but don't need to be crated. They are fine with cats and walk well on a leash. Rowan and Jester will need regular grooming appointments to maintain their gorgeous coats. Rowan and Jester MUST stay together. They have already lost enough, we are determined that they won't lose each other. If you'd like to meet Rowan and Jester, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care.

Adoption Process
We offer Foster To Adopt for dogs adoptions. You must complete the application, be approved and pay a $100 deposit ($150 puppies). You can then take the dog home for a trial visit of up to one week This will help you determine if you and the dog are the right match. If yes, then you can finalize the adoption. If no, then you return the dog to us and you are welcome to try a different dog. complete the necessary paperwork and pay a $100 deposit for adult dogs and $150 for puppies (cash, check or credit card). This fee is non-refundable, and will be applied to the adoption fee if you decide to finalize the adoption. The adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter surgery, parvo/distemper shots and rabies shots (for dogs over 6 months), deworming, microchipping, flea and tick protection, heartworm testing (for dogs over 6 months), and monthly heartworm protection until the dog gets adopted.
