Grainger County Humane Society

The Grainger County Humane Society receives NO funding from our local government or other outside sources. The humane society exists on donations from private individuals and businesses, and volunteer effort. We DO NOT have an animal shelter or an Animal Control Officer at this time. All work is done by volunteers. A Spay/Neuter Clinic is our immediate goal. A Shelter/Adoption Facility and an Animal Control officer are part of our long term goals.

Meet Zahara

 Boston Terrier(dad)/Australian Shepherd(mom) Mixes   She is a gentle soul who is a bit slow to warm up and trust right now (it’s being worked on) and she is oh so sweet! She LOVES belly rubs and ear scratches, once you get her going, if you stop, she’s lifting her paw to you for more. She loves other dogs & would absolutely thrive in another dog home! She is currently still a bit scared of being crated, but is getting used to it. She is an absolute sweetheart, a home that could give her the love she deserves and needs is perfect!  

Adoption Process
Adopters must fill out an Adoption Contract, animals are spayed/neutered and current on applicable vaccinations. Adoption fee is $100.00
