Meet Jorri in NY - pending

You can see more beautiful dogs by visiting our Adoptable Dogs page. Jorri—those eyes—what a beauty! This gorgeous young girl came into rescue as a stray very thin; despite this, she has such a gentleness about her and has quickly learned to love and trust people. Once she meets you, she will approach with a tail wag and lean in to ensure she can be reached for pets! She loves all dogs—especially those who enjoy running and playing as much as she does! Jorri is smart, too, and has quickly learned to be comfortable in the house, is comfortable in a crate, and to walk nicely on a leash. She is like a sponge waiting for the perfect family to continue her training so she can absorb all there is to learn. When not playing and learning new things, she loves to relax and take naps on her blanket. She is currently in boarding but keeps her run clean. Jorri will need a secure fenced yard and a fun family to match her activity level. Jorri loves both indoors and out, but really likes it best when she's with her people :) Jorri’s ideal family would continue to give her the love and attention she deserves and patiently show her what it means to be a best friend. A cat would be welcomed but a male canine brother would make her world complete! Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. We may consider fostering for some of our dogs who are in boarding. Please visit Fostering FAQfor an application and information about our fostering program. If you can't foster or adopt at this time, please consider helping our Neediest Cases or making a tax-exempt donation by visiting our Donate page. Please complete the adoption application and visit to learn more about Pyrs and our adoption process. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) is not a shelter. We are a non-profit, tax-exempt rescue who has been rescuing the breed for 15 years.  Visit to learn more about us, our mission and our breed. More Information: Questions? The fastest way to learn more about a dog is to fill out our online application. If you call or e-mail you are reducing your chances of adopting this animal as we direct our time and energy to first serving those who apply.  We have many Pyrs and Pyr mixes who need homes and not all of them are posted.
