It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.

Meet Ellie May

Ellie May is a 2 year old pit/husky mix. She was an owner surrender because she wouldn't leave the cats in the house alone and the cats were there first. Her previous owner helped Ellie May get out of a bad situation and took her to the vet regularly. She currently weighs around 45 lbs currently, so most likely will be medium to large when fully grown. She was making good progress with potty training and was learning to sit by the outside door. Ellie May was kenneled when they were away from home. She also learned sit and lay down. Ellie May did well with kids and dogs. She's been an energetic goof at the rescue and has done well with every person she has met. To adopt Ellie May, apply at ITVrescue.org.All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated if necessary.
