Sweet Dream House Rescue
Sweet Dream House Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit, no kill, all volunteer, all breed animal rescue. We utilize a network of foster homes for pets ready for adoption. Our mission is to rescue homeless and abandoned animals, to spay/neuter, vaccinate and provide any needed medical care until they are adopted into loving homes. We are often the rescue of last resort, waiting until other rescues select from the euthansia lists to rescue those that are not selected.

Meet Shorty 2023
SHORTY is a sweet, silly, playful beagle mix guy looking for a new home. He's around 1 year old and fully grown at 30 lbs. Shorty's greatest ambition is to become one with the grass. He rolls, he scoots, he crawls and then starts over again. Most beagles explore the yard with their noses, for Shorty it's a full body contact endeavor. Shorty was dumped in a shelter as an owner surrender and he's still confused by his change in circumstances. He does tend to shy away from hands and feet so we suspect he wasn't always treated with kindness. Shorty would be happiest in a home with another friendly, playful dog and a fully fenced yard with plenty of grass suitable for rolling. He's a medium energy boy who already knows "sit". If you'd like to meet this sweet, friendly boy, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to set up a private meet with an approved adopter or you can meet Shorty at our weekly adoption event Saturday noon-3 at PetSmart Eastgate. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care.
We offer Foster To Adopt for dogs adoptions. You must complete the application, be approved and pay a $100 deposit ($150 puppies). You can then take the dog home for a trial visit of up to one week This will help you determine if you and the dog are the right match. If yes, then you can finalize the adoption. If no, then you return the dog to us and you are welcome to try a different dog. complete the necessary paperwork and pay a $100 deposit for adult dogs and $150 for puppies (cash, check or credit card). This fee is non-refundable, and will be applied to the adoption fee if you decide to finalize the adoption. The adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter surgery, parvo/distemper shots and rabies shots (for dogs over 6 months), deworming, microchipping, flea and tick protection, heartworm testing (for dogs over 6 months), and monthly heartworm protection until the dog gets adopted.
