Meet Freckles

Meet FRECKLES, an adorable young mixed breed pup looking for a home. Officially he's listed as an Australian Cattle Dog (Blue heeler) mix. We think he looks an awful lot like a "Cowboy Corgi" -- a "designer" blue heeler/corgi mixed breed dog. He doesn't have heeler ears, his ears are very corgi-like. Of course there may be a few more breeds mixed in. Freckles is still a pup at 10 months old and currently 20 pounds. If he's not fully grown, he's very nearly so. Freckles is a timid boy who seeks out the companionship of other dogs. So far he's a low key guy, but heelers are active dogs so once he gains confidence, he may blossom into a higher energy dog. Freckles needs a home with another friendly, playful dog and a physically fenced yard. His cat test was inconclusive -- he's so timid he wouldn't even look at the kitty. If you'd like to meet Freckles, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Freckles at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate if he's still available. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. A deposit is required to take a dog home for a trial period. The deposit will be applied to the dog’s final adoption fee.

Adoption Process
We offer Foster To Adopt for dogs adoptions. You must complete the application, be approved and pay a $100 deposit ($150 puppies). You can then take the dog home for a trial visit of up to one week This will help you determine if you and the dog are the right match. If yes, then you can finalize the adoption. If no, then you return the dog to us and you are welcome to try a different dog. complete the necessary paperwork and pay a $100 deposit for adult dogs and $150 for puppies (cash, check or credit card). This fee is non-refundable, and will be applied to the adoption fee if you decide to finalize the adoption. The adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter surgery, parvo/distemper shots and rabies shots (for dogs over 6 months), deworming, microchipping, flea and tick protection, heartworm testing (for dogs over 6 months), and monthly heartworm protection until the dog gets adopted.
