It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.

Meet Lucille

Currently located at our Owensboro, KY location  Meet Lucille the sweetest Cattle Dog Mix with the most adorable ear that sticks out sideways — it’s impossible not to fall in love!  We’re still getting to know this precious pup, but so far, we've learned that she loves to explore the play yard and seems to know some basic commands, making her a smart cookie that has amazing potential! Lucille is currently waiting to be spayed, so for now, she’s only available to be fostered… but here’s the best part — fosters get first choice to adopt once she’s ready!  And trust us, once you meet her, you won’t want to let her go. Can you open your home to Lucille? She’s ready to steal your heart.All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped and spayed or neutered.
